About Mrs. Black
Mrs. Black
I'm so fortunate to have the best job ever! I love working with children--hearing their stories, seeing their growth, and learning from their fresh perspectives. I'm passionate about helping students feel ownership over their learning and choices. Fifth grade is such a fun year for students to learn more about their world and about themselves!
About myself:
I'm originally from Murrieta (in Southern California), halfway between San Diego and L.A. I moved to Utah for college then taught third grade for four years. I've been conveniently located by beautiful national and state parks--Yosemite, Muir Woods, Coronado Beach, Arches, Moab. I love being out in nature! I also love reading books, finding new picture books, visiting Disneyland, going to the movies, trying new restaurants with my husband, and petting any dog I come in contact with. (Although my favorite dog is our yellow lab Zero.)
