A studuent display at Northwood's Multicultural night

Mercer Island, WA, May 26, 2026 - What an absolutely incredible community turnout we had for Northwood’s annual Multicultural Night on May 20! Our school was transformed into a vibrant global festival, and it was a spectacular reminder of the beautiful diversity that makes our community so special.

Our young travelers kicked off the evening with their Multicultural Passports in hand, exploring the country booths. From checking out incredible displays to collecting stamps, students had a blast learning about the heritage, traditions, and stories of lands near and far.

The stage then came alive with a breathtaking showcase of talent! We were treated to inspiring words about multilingualism, followed by high-energy Korean Martial Arts, beautiful and balanced Japanese Unicycle dancing, and vibrant Ukrainian folk dances. The night culminated in our grand Parade of Nations, where families marched proudly under their flags, and wrapped up with an exciting passport raffle.

A Massive Thank You to Our High School Volunteers! An evening of this scale takes a village, and this year, our village was led by an incredible group of young leaders.

The Northwood PTA extends our deepest gratitude to these fantastic high schoolers for their energy, hard work, and outstanding leadership. Thank you for showing our younger students what true community spirit looks like!
