Northwood Student Council Leads First Belonging Assembly of the Year
Mercer Island, WA, February 7, 2024 – The Northwood Student Council led the school’s first Belonging Assembly of the year Wednesday morning.
The Student Council has been working on the vision for the first Belonging Assembly for several months and was very excited to bring the whole school together.
The assembly started with the Student Council reading a story entitled A Kids Book About Belonging.
After the story the Student Council introduced a new Recess Club called Belonging Bracelets. Starting next week students will be able to make bracelets during recess. The bracelets will be shared by students with classmates, friends, and family to foster belonging.
The assembly ended with the Student Council and Northwood Instructional Coach Heidi Clark leading the students in a new Northwood chant.
